Flock Alert is an independent, ad-free iOS app built to make ALPR and Flock Safety surveillance cameras visible to the people they watch. We believe that transparency is the first step toward accountability. If you do not know where cameras are, you cannot make informed decisions about your privacy, your routes, or your community.
License plate readers are quietly tracking millions of Americans every day. Companies like Flock Safety have deployed tens of thousands of cameras across the country, scanning over 100 million vehicles per day and pooling the data into a searchable national database. Most people have no idea how many cameras are in their city, where they are located, or who has access to the data.
We built Flock Alert to change that. Our app maps documented ALPR camera locations, gives real-time proximity alerts, and helps you plan routes that avoid surveillance. It is free, has no ads, requires no account, and processes your location on your device — never on a server.

We are privacy advocates and technologists who have spent years studying ALPR surveillance, civil liberties, and the growing backlash against mass location tracking. Our articles are reviewed for accuracy and updated as new information becomes available.
Flock Alert's camera map is built from open community contributions. We document camera locations reported by users who spot Flock Safety and ALPR hardware in their neighborhoods. The map is continuously updated as new cameras are installed and reported. We do not access Flock Safety's private database — our data comes from visible, publicly observable camera hardware.
